BLUE FUTURE
SYMPOSIUM: "IMPACT OF MICROPLASTIC POLLUTION
ON THE MARINE ENVIRONMENT AND HEALTH"
PURPOSE:
The main goal of this symposium is to raise awareness and promote concrete actions to reduce microplastic pollution, highlighting its effects on the Black Sea ecosystem and human health.
The event aims to bring together students, teachers, experts and community members to encourage collaboration and education in order to protect the marine environment.
MAIN OBJECTIVE:
Organization of an educational and informative event to discuss the impact of microplastics on the Black Sea ecosystem and the risks to human health, with the participation of students, experts and the local community.
SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES:
1. Informing and educating participants about the sources, effects and risks of microplastics on the ecosystem and health.
2. Facilitating an interdisciplinary dialogue between students and teachers to find sustainable solutions.
3. Promotion of research and the involvement of young people in projects and initiatives to protect the marine environment.
4. Inspiring local and global actions to reduce the use of plastic and promote a sustainable lifestyle.
5. Consolidation of the school's position in the European Network of Blue Schools, by promoting the values of protection of the marine environment.
THE AGENDA OF THE SYMPOSIUM:
1. Opening of the Symposium:
- Welcome word: The school principal.
- Theme presentation: The importance of understanding the microplastic problem in the context of protecting the Black Sea.
2. Thematic presentations (2 hours):
Proposed topic:
"IMPACT OF MICROPLASTIC POLLUTION ON THE MARINE ENVIRONMENT AND HEALTH"
Format:
Each student team has 10-15 minutes for the presentation, with questions at the end.
Activity:
Exhibition of posters, models and works made by primary and secondary school students on the topic of microplastics.
Objective:
Promoting the involvement of students and sensitizing the participants.
At the end of the symposium, the conclusions of the event were presented, invitations were made to concrete environmental actions (eg planting, plastic collections).

- Students: Presenters and active participants in discussions.
- Teachers: Project coordinators and facilitators.
- Local community: Parents
Final products of the symposium:
1. Video and photos: Recording presentations for promotion.
2. Exhibition: The students' works - drawings / models - will remain on display in the school.
